Emergency Broadband Benefit Program

The FCC issued its Emergency Broadband Benefit (“EBB”) Order (FCC 21-29) on February 26th. The EBB program is designed to facilitate home internet access to low-income households — particularly, although not exclusively, to families with students requiring access to remote learning. EBB will provide discounts on internet service of up to $50/month ($75/month in Tribal areas) for low-income households. Discounts up to $100 are available for certain “connected devices” such as computers, laptops, or tablets.
