E-Rate for FY 2024:

Wave 23 for FY 2024 was released on Wednesday, September 25th, for $10.7 million.  Total funding is now $2.25 billion.  Currently, USAC has funded 94.0% of the originally submitted applications, representing 75.2% of the dollars requested.

Upcoming Dates:

September 30     Last day to receive service, or to submit a Service Delivery Deadline request, for FY 2023 non-recurring services.
October 15 USAC webinar: Cybersecurity Pilot Program Overview for Service Providers (registration).
October 17 Form 486 deadline for FY 2023 Wave 56.  More generally, the Form 486 deadline is 120 days from the FCDL date, or the service start date (typically July 1st), whichever is later.  The next Form 486 deadline for FY 2023 is:
Wave 57              10/28/2024
Wave 58              11/07/2024
Wave 59              11/14/2024
Wave 60              11/21/2024
October 28 Due date for nominations for eight positions on the USAC Board of Directors (see DA 24-867).
October 28 E-rate invoice deadline for FY 2023 recurring services and final date to request an invoice deadline extension.
October 29 Form 486 deadline for FY 2024 Waves 1-10.  More generally, the Form 486 deadline is 120 days from the FCDL date, or the service start date (typically July 1st), whichever is later.  Upcoming Form 486 deadlines for FY 2024 are:

November 1 Close of the FCC’s Cybersecurity Pilot Program Form 484 Part 1 application window.

USAC’s E-Rate News Brief dated September 26, 2024, covers a wide range of reminders and other topics including:

  • September 30th — today! — is the deadline to receive non-recurring services for FY 2023 or to request a service delivery deadline.  If a service delivery extension is requested and approved, do not forget to extend any associated contract for an additional year.
  • October 28th is the invoice filing deadline for most recurring services for FY 2023 or to request a 120-day invoice deadline extension.
  • A current SAM.gov registration is required to submit a BEAR invoice.  SAM.gov registrations are required to be renewed annually.
  • The first Form 486 deadline for those applicants whose FY 2024 applicants were approved in Waves 1-10 is October 29th.
  • Recent E-Rate program updates include:
    • Wi-Fi hotspots for FY 2025.
    • School bus Wi-Fi services for FY 2024 forward.
    • Competitive bidding exemptions for libraries.
    • Updated Tribal definitions.
  • Competitive bidding reminders for FY 2025.
  • EPC administrative window opens October 15th.
  • 2024 training and outreach schedule.
  • Clearing browser cache to correct occasional errors when logging into EPC.
